Morning PRAYER YOGA

Monday Thru Friday 8-8:45am

zoom link for Morning Prayer

A morning ritual of yoga and meditation is a helpful way to bring stability to the beginning of your day, greeting it with openness and receptivity. 20 minutes of mindful movement through Sun Salutations followed by 20 minutes of stillness in quiet meditation.

The Covid-19 pandemic has shifted our schedules as well as the world around us. Morning Prayer Yoga happens mainly on zoom so you can join from the comfort of your own home. If you prefer to practice in the studio, let me know.

OPENING PSALMS

Psalm 90

Lord, you have been our dwelling place

                    throughout all generations.

                    before the mountains were born

or the whole world brought forth,

                    from everlasting to everlasting,

                              You are God.

Teach us to number our days,

that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

          Satisfy us in the morning

                    with your unfailing love,

that we may sing for joy

and be glad all our days.

Psalm 97

One thing I have asked of the Lord,

this is what I seek —

That I may dwell in the house of the Lord,

all the days of my life,

In the great cathedral of Earth, Sky and Sea,

In the sanctuary of my own Body, Mind and Heart,

          to gaze on beauty,

               and seek wisdom.

I will see again the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

          Wait for the Lord;

               Be strong and take heart

               and wait for the Lord.

SUN SALUTATIONS

(20 minutes of mindful movement)

PRAYER FOR QUIET CONFIDENCE

O God of Peace,

Who has taught us

that in returning and rest we shall be saved,

in quietness and in confidence shall be our strength.

By the might of your spirit ground us in Presence

where we may be still and know God.

MEDITATION

(20 minutes of seated silence)

CLOSING PRAYER

As we greet the rising sun and its light touches our bodies:

May we be filled with the light of the Divine.

May we go from this place as a ray of that Light touching life

with love and compassion.

May our eyes be open to see the light in all beings,

within ourselves,

our loved ones,

our neighbors,

those we don’t like,

the stranger.

May we know we belong to one another

and to all the creatures of this Earth, our home.

May we be born anew today to our true nature.

Made of the Divine

Made of Light

Made of Love.

Father and Mother of us all

Loving God, in whom is joy of being.

The sacredness of your name echo through the universe!

The way of your justice be followed by the peoples of the world!

Your will of love be done by all created beings!

Your community of peace and freedom sustain our hope and manifest on Earth!

With the bread we need for today, feed us.

In the hurts we absorb from one another, forgive us.

In times of temptation and testing, strengthen us.

From trials too great to endure, spare us.

From the grip of all that is evil, free us.

For you reign in the glory of the power that is LOVE

Now and forever
